This is one of the things we do best
The “Empowering Youth Workers for a Better Integration of Migrants and Refugees” is an enriching collaborative project conducted under the auspices of the EU Erasmus KA220 initiative. With an aim to foster social cohesion, this project seeks to enhance the capacity of youth workers, enabling them to provide comprehensive support to young migrants and refugees during their integration process. Our approach involves the delivery of new tools and methods for youth workers, geared towards the specific needs and challenges that arise when aiding young migrants and refugees.
Migration has emerged as one of the most pressing social, economi c, and political concerns in contemporary societies. The insufficient availability of information on this issue has resulted in persistent challenges for both migrants and the hosting communities. The youth sector plays a pivotal role in devising support mechanisms and solutions to address these challenges. The Erasmus+ Programme presents an effective means for the youth sector to provide technical, methodological, and financial support to migrants as they devise their own solutions to tackle the problem.
The primary objective of this project is to deliver an innovative training curriculum and training materials to professionals working with refugees and other audiences to promote intercultural dialogue, combat discrimination, and foster social inclusion of migrants and refugees.
The partner organizations aim to address the following needs:
Firstly, to hold discussions on migration issues and assist migrants and refugees in feeling integrated into society. These discussions will enable partners to analyze the migrants’ situation and needs, and suggest methodological solutions to enhance their well-being.
Secondly, to establish new collaborations with other organizations such as municipalities, universities, public and private entities, research centers, transnational bodies, and other NGOs. These partnerships will improve mutual understanding among partners and increase awareness of European values, citizenship, and tolerance.
Thirdly, to cooperate with NGOs, institutions, and other organizations with similar objectives to strengthen and broaden their national and international network in the youth field, with a focus on social inclusion for future projects.
Fourthly, to involve people with fewer opportunities, including migrants and other minorities, in their national and international projects. In doing so, they will facilitate access for disadvantaged people, support intercultural learning on ethics, religion, and philosophy, and aid in the integration of refugees.
Finally, to share experiences, best practices, high-quality learning resources, and guidelines that can be used in their own training and projects. Through international partners of the project, they will enhance their youth workers’ capacity to work and provide key tools for inclusion, integration, intercultural learning, and social cohesion.
